UPDATE! UPDATE! Read All About It

Wow! So it’s been 2 years…

You know how it is, life gets busy, time gets lost…but now I’d like to come back to this platform with fresh eyes and a fresh look because a lot has changed – and for the better!

First off, may I introduce my latest love & biggest life changer: Miss Daisy (@crazy.lil.miss.daisy).

I got this little nugget almost 3 years ago (the math is adding up now), and it has been THE BEST decision I have ever made. Now you have to understand, becoming a dog owner had been an aspiration of mine for as long as I can remember. Seriously – I remember loving dogs (and animals) from as early an age as 2 or 3 years old and had been making this my wish on every birthday candle, every fallen eyelash, and every folded chip I ate.

Daisy is literally my dream come true, but she’s also become my inspiration. She’s introduced me to a whole community, a new passion, and a refreshed perspective. She’s become a huge part of my life, so it only seemed fitting to incorporate her into this blog.

Enter: snow.it.all

Since food will no longer be the primary focus, Snow How to Eat has been renamed snow.it.all: a blog curated by a fellow food lover and dogmom in Toronto.

I’ll continue to publish the same delicious recipes and reviews of local restaurants, but will also feature articles for dog owners such as: recipes for homemade treats, Daisy’s top 5, dog-friendly travel, tips for welcoming your first puppy home, etc.

To get things started, why not check out this article I wrote on Daisy’s Top 5 Dog Toys!

Dog Photography

Another new passion of mine since my last post has been dog photography (for obvious reasons).

When I got Daisy, I created her Instagram account pretty early because I wanted to document her growth and share all the adorable photos of her without annoying my friends & family to no end. What started off as a simple photo diary, quickly evolved into a platform for my creativity. My photos of Daisy became more and more thought out, my posts and captions began to be more cohesive and imaginative, and I started to have a lot of fun with it.

About a year into it, I realized that this had not only become a new passion for me, but it had also become a new skill. I never would’ve thought that getting Daisy would lead me towards pet photography, but I’m so glad she did. Within the following year, I decided to explore this field more and during that time I:

  • learned from some amazing photographers, who I’m lucky to now call friends;
  • completed 3 photo shoots of dogs with their owners, getting some practice with portraits;
  • and even co-hosted a photo booth at a local holiday market!

I’m so proud of how far along I’ve come in this, and as I begin to take myself more seriously as a photographer, I thought that this blog would also be a great opportunity to showcase some of my work. Swing by the snow.it.all pet photography page & check it out!

That’s it for now, but if there’s anything you’d like me to write about, let me know in the comments below! I’m planning on including a feature on Daisy’s 1st year next, but I’d love to know if there are any tips, reviews, or experiences you’d like me to share. Until next time, friends 🙂
