Finally, a healthy snack that’s irresistible…
For many of us, the holiday season is a time that’s loved by our taste buds…but not so much by our waistlines. In fact, research completed in the UK revealed that people are likely to consume about 6,000 calories on Christmas Day – the equivalent of 12 Big Macs!
With Christmas dinner being one of the most traditional meals of the year, we just can’t seem to pass up the opportunity to gobble up some turkey with all its fixin’s. Now when we consider the numerous sweets, glasses of wine, and eggnog necessary for that traditional Christmas feel, these research findings are really no big surprise.
While we all try our best to limit our calorie intake, the holidays is a time to relax and be merry! So enjoy that big traditional Christmas dinner because it only happens once a year.
But wait – what about those 6,000 calories?
Well, that’s where Snow how to eat comes in! Posting some healthier options, such as these addictive kale chips, we can help you gauge your calorie intake throughout the holiday months so you can indulge on the meal that counts!
Make sure to thoroughly rub the olive oil through the kale leaves so that every last inch and wrinkle is covered.
After you prepare the kale, spread them out on the baking sheet so that there’s a little bit a space in between, allowing the kale to get crispy!
Voila! Add some Parmesan or garlic powder and roast them a little if you want to add a little twist.

- 2 bunches of kale
- 2 Tbs of olive oil
- A sprinkle of sea salt
- A sprinkle of grated Parmesan
- Preheat your oven to 300ºF/145ºC. Wash and dry the kale thoroughly before removing all the ribs and tearing it into chip sized pieces.
- In a large bowl, massage the oil into the kale, ensuring that every side and corner is covered.
- Place a single layer on oiled baking sheets and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping occasionally so it doesn't burn. Sprinkle some sea salt and grated Parmesan on top during the last 5 minutes of baking so the cheese can get a little crispy.
